DR JEETENDRA VERMA

A result oriented professional with 25 years of experience in the field of Animal/ Poultry Nutrition, Animal Health Care and Feed Sales & Marketing. Started his career as Asst. Professor (Poultry Sc.) at Mhow Veterinary College, JNKVV, Jabalpur. Currently employed with Delacon Biotechnik GmbH, Austria as Regional Manager, South Central Asia,


Hands on experience of regulatory issues related to new molecule/ product registration. Market access to the products. Experience of CODEX, (An international Food Standards Organization) and FSSAI. Worked as part of FSSAI mission to harmonize the food standards for India as per the international standards. He is associated with many scientific and industry associations like CLFMA, IPSA, INFAH, IVPI, WVPA and WPSA.


Dr Verma is a motivational speaker, coach and trains people from large corporates of Animal Health Industry. He has conducted session on motivation in companies like Venkys,Ravioza Biotech, Aftab, Nourish, Paragon, AG Agro, Arif’s in India and Bangladesh.

A post graduate and PhD in Poultry Science with MBA in Business Administration from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta. Dr. Verma is married, blessed with 3 children and lives in Bangalore, India.



Prof. P.K.Shukla

Registrar and Dean Post Graduate Studies, U. P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwa Vidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan, DUVASU, Mathura is graduate of Veterinary College Jabalpur. He obtained M.V.Sc. in Poultry Science from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar. and Ph.D. in Poultry Science from Chandra Shakhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. He has been decorated with numerous prestigious awards and honours including Best Outgoing Graduate Award, Rastrapati Award in Scouting, Life Time Achievement Award by CLFMA, Life Time Achievement Award by Govt. of India, Distinguished Faculty Award by Venus International Foundation, Chennai, Deputy Director General, NCC, Uttar Pradesh Appreciation Award etc.


Prof. Shukla is distinguished fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences. He had been the Member Secretary of the prestigious Central Poultry Development Advisory Council of Government of India, Member Joint Working Group under MOU signed between India and Uganda on the co-operation in the field of agriculture and Allied sector, Member, Joint Monitoring Group Of Govt. of India for Avian Influenza of Ministry of Agriculture & Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Chairman, Committee on Bilateral issues during New Delhi International Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic Influenza, Member, Rural Advisory Committee of Doordarshan, Mandi House New Delhi, Member, Breed Registration Committee for Registration of Poultry Breed in Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Member of Research Advisory Committee of Central Avian Research Institute, Izatnagar and Project Directorate on Poultry, Rajendra Nagar, Hyderabad, Member, QRT for Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Member, Scientific Panel on Meat and Meat Products including Poultry of FSSAI, Advisor, Agriculture Skill Council of India for Poultry Development etc.


Before assuming the office of Registrar and Dean Post Graduate Studies, U. P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwa Vidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan, DUVASU, Mathura, Prof. Shukla was Professor and Head, Department of Poultry Science and Scientific and Technical Advisor to Vice Chancellor at DUVASU, Mathura. He worked as Joint Commissioner (Poultry), Government of India in Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi from May 2007 to April 2012, playing a crucial role in the Policy, Planning & Program implementation especially in Poultry Sector. He believes in dissemination of relevant information amongst various stake-holders and has about 160 publications in his credit besides 3 book chapters and two laboratory manuals. He has guided more than 24 M.V.Sc. and Ph.D. students. He authored several Policy Papers and Status Papers and is on the editorial boards of several journals and magazines of repute. Presently Prof. P.K. Shukla is engaged in research and education management in veterinary science and providing leadership for overall Poultry development in country.


Prof. Dr. Ajit S. Ranade

A born teacher and acknowledged expert in the field of Poultry Science, Prof. Dr. Ajit S. Ranade has 30+ years of experience. He is presently the Associate Dean, Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai and University Head of Poultry Science, Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur and has served as Associate Dean, KNPCVS, Shirwal too.


Holding First Class with Distinction Masters and Ph. D. Degrees in Poultry Science from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai, he has completed 12 advance courses and trainings in Poultry Science. His wide reaching administrative experience is based on his experiences serving on various committees viz. Founder Managing Committee Member - Vets in Poultry (V. I. P.) since September 2019, Member - World Veterinary Poultry Association (WVPA) - India Chapter since 2018, Technical Advisor to CLFMA, India since 2006, Member - MAFSU Academic Council since 2002, Chairman, Board of Studies in Poultry Science since 2000, Founder Managing Committee, Technical Advisor for Scientific Committee of Knowledge Day of Poultry India 2016.


He has 60+ publication in peer reviewed journals, presented in 80+ conferences and seminars, authored or co-authoured 160 Extension publications, has 35 Interview publications and given 52 and 26 radio and television talks.


He has been the lead advisor for 57 masters (M.V.Sc.) and two Ph. D. students in Poultry Science, co-guided 50 M. V. Sc. and six Ph. D. students of other disciplines like Animal Nutrition, Pharmacology, Pathology, Anatomy, etc. and has been a part of short term trainings on poultry farming & quail farming which have successfully trained 1500 people many of whom have started their own poultry farm or are engaged in poultry industry. He has pioneered foreign (US) based internship for post graduate students in the College.


His contribution as Poultry Scientist and Advisor include him being appointed as member / coordinator in various state and national level committees like Establishing Rural Poultry Units in the Adopted Villages (by the H. E. Governor of Maharashtra), Poultry Development Board of Maharashtra, Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC), Research Advisory Council (RAC) for Central Avian Research Institute (CARI), Izatnagar and Project Directorate on Poultry (PDP), Hyderabad, National Poultry Feed Quality Standards, CLFMA of India. Member of the editorial board of Livestock & Feed Trends since 2002, and Editor of journals like "Journal of Bombay Veterinary College (2004 - 2007) and Vetline - News Bulletin of Bombay Veterinary College (2004 - 2007).


His social outreach programmes to sensitize and increase awareness about egg and chicken consumption include organization of World Egg Day since 2010 in schools, veterinary colleges and orphanages and the Poultry Industry & Scientists Meets. He has been an active contributor during the Bird Flu Outbreaks in 2006 by organizing eat chicken rallies, given technical inputs as an expert to Brihanmumbai & Thane Municipal Corporations & Government of Maharashtra, addressed press conferences, seminars and symposia on bird flu and 2021 as the Nodal Officer and Expert of Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, given Video talks in English, Marathi and Hindi which are uploaded on the University and College websites as well as different social media platforms like What's App, Face Book, Instagram, etc. and interviews to newspapers (Maharashtra Times, Sakal, Indian Express, Times of India, etc.) and various news channels (ABP Maza, TV 9 Marathi, Sam TV Marathi, Zee 24 Tas, BBC Marathi, Mahanagar News Portal, Live Show of Journalist Fay D'Souza, etc.)


A natural poet, an enthusiastic singer, classical music devotee, an avid cricket fan and a superior orator are other notable facets of his personality.


Dr.S.K.Das

Retd. Professor & Head,Department of Microbiology ,College of Veterinary Science,Assam Agricultural University,Guwahati-781022 is a well known academician and Scientist in the field of Veterinary Science specially in the discipline of Microbiology..He obtained his B.V.Sc and A.H. degree from College of Veterinary Science ,Khanapar, Guwahati in the year 1975.Thereafter,he completed his post graduate degree programme in the discipline of Veterinary Bacteriology and Mycology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute,Izatnagar, Bareilly in the year1978 under the guidance of .Professor P.K.Uppal ,one of the doyen of the Veterinary Science in India.He completed his Ph.D Programme in the field of Vterinary Virology from Punjab Aricultural University,Ludhiana in the year 1986 .During his Ph.D. programme,he worked on topic antigenic analysis of Fowl pox virus under the guidance of Late Professor Dr.S.N.Sharma.He started his career as Asstt. Virologist and served in different capacities in the Department of Microbiology and finally retired as Professor and Head,Deptt. Of Microbiology of Assam Agricultural University.He also acted as Nodal Head, Department of Animal Biotechnology, Assam Agricultural University during initial period of its establishment.. As Academician, he guided several M.V.Sc and Ph.D. Scholars and has the credit of publishing a good number of Research Publications in the field of Veterinary bacteriology and Virology in different journals of national and international fame. He also acted as Principal Investigators of some Research Projects sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR),Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the department of Biotechnology,Govt. Of India. He also served as member of the several high level committees of of some state and Central Universities, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Department of Biotechnology, Govt. Of India. After retirement from his service life ,he continued to be a member of few National level committe of ICAR and DBT,Govt of India and office bearer of few Scientific Associations .



Dr Bichitra Barman

Dr Bichitra Barman is Post Graduate in the field of Veterinary Microbiology from College of VeterinaryScience, Assam Agricultural University, Guwahati, Assamin 2000 and since then has worked with ICAR Research Project and Poultry Industry in India and currently working with Ceva Polchem Pvt. Ltd as Technical Manager for South East Asia.


Since 2004, he has focused more on Technical services with Poultry Industry and worked with Suguna and Venky’s handling Quality Assurance, Laboratory services, Technical services and Product Development and Marketing. He had trained many poultry professionals, poultry farmers in India, Nepal Sri Lanka and Bangladesh on poultry management, disease diagnosis, laboratory and biosecurity and presented in many national and international technical meetings and Seminars.


He is also associated with Management school as Guest Lecturer and scientificassociation like ISVIB, AVC, IAVMI, IAVP and WVPA. Dr Barman is married and blessed with one girl and leaves at Pune.


Dr. P. G. Phalke

Veterinarian of 1975 batch from Nagpur Veterinary College, Nagpur Started his carrier as Technical Representative with American Cyanamid Company. He pursued his studies in animal nutrition and in marketing and sales management.


After a diploma in marketing and sales management he joined I.C.I (UK) for launching their new products mainly the anthelminticts Zanil, Nilzan, Nilverm etc. in Indian Market. With the diversified experience in working with animal health companies he joined Indian Feed Manufacturing Company Rallis India Ltd with total responsibility of technical and marketing of animal feeds. After gaining the experience in feed industry he took over the international assignment as Business Manager for India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in MNC – Rhone-Poulenc Animal Nutrition, France in 1991.


His last job was Vice President (Marketing) in Vam Organic (Anichem) the largest Choline Chloride manufacturer in Asia. He introduced Choline in India and developed domestic and export market during 1996-1999. During his tenure he focused on Technical Seminars, with back up on animal nutrition for feed millers &premixers to use more synthetic amino acids for making cost effective balanced feed. This was the most effective programme launched successfully to establish amino acids usages in Indian poultry and feed industry.


After working for 25 years in different sectors of livestock industry, Dr. Phalke decided to be on his own. This was the time he developed love to work for industry association CLFMA OF INDIA. During his 10 years tenure with CLFMA, helped to bring the association to a new height and made it a force to be recognized at government and other forums, nationally and internationally.


He is actively involved in CLFMA OF INDIA (formerly known as The Compound Livestock Feed Manufacturer’s Association of India) since 1999. He developed one to one contacts with all the members of the industry. He has mastered the art of keeping the members from different sectors together and he is well aware with the issues related to total livestock industry. He is Hon. Secretary of the association for successive three terms. Dr. Phalke is involved in government policy making and advisory committees such as ICAR, DAHD, BISetc. He was also involved in organising national and regional seminars for CLFMA and others including his active support to national and international exhibitions in India.


He is a promoter and founder member of INFAH (Indian Federation of Animal Health Companies). He has played key role in creating such platform for animal health products companies in India to present their issues. He is also running an independent consultancy company which represents- Japanese Company Kaneka Corporation, Korean Company Daesang Corporation and two Chinese companies Chanhen and Beijing Smile in India and sub continent. He is Director on Indian subsidiary of ICC Brazil, the largest supplier of yeast in the world. And closely associated with Indian Poultry Industry.


Dr. Phalke is widely travelled throughout the world and is accessible to the members of the industry in India and abroad. He is actively involved in other association such as life member of PFI, IVPI, WPSA, SEAetc and President of AVI- Association of Veterinarians from Industry.



Dr. D. Nagalakshmi

Dr. D. Nagalakshmi, Professor and University Head of Department of Animal Nutrition in P V Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad, is having about 23 years of teaching and research experience in field of Animal Nutrition and also served in poultry industry as Nutritionist. She did her B.V.Sc & AH from College of Veterinary Science & AH, JNKVV, Jabalpur (1986-1991) and later obtained M.V. Sc and PhD in Animal Nutrition from IVRI during 1993 and 1997, respectively. She is the recipient of many fellowships during her entire academics career such as University Merit Scholarship during B.V.Sc & AH, ICAR Junior Research Fellowship during M.V.Sc and CSIR Senior Research Fellowship during her PhD. Received several recognitions during studies like Vishwa Vidhyalaya Gold Medal, Dr. K.V. Narayan Rao Memorial Trophy for best outgoing student, Venkateswara Hatcharies Gold Medal, Sri Mangilal Kishanlal Jain Memorial Award for the best performance in Veterinary Pathology, P.K. Patwardhan Silver Medal, P.K. Gambeer Silver Medal and Jagrani Devi Bahree Silver Medal. She has published around 145 research papers in reputed National and International journals. She has contributed 5 book chapters in various books of Animal Nutrition mostly based on her field and research expertise. She has guided 10 M.V.Sc and 3 PhD students as Major advisor and 25 M.V.Sc and 12 PhD students as Co-advisors.


During her employment career she received Young Scientist Award from three prestigious scientific associations like National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Indian Science Congress Association. She has also received Punjabrao Deshmukh Women Agricultural Scientist Award’ of ICAR, Meritorious Research Scientist Award from Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, ‘Award of Research Excellence from Indus Foundation, USA for her research contributions in Animal Nutrition and received State Meritorious Teacher Award from GOI, Telangana. She is also Fellow of Animal Nutrition Association. She has handled many externally funded Research projects as Principal Investigator in her areas of interest sponsored by ICAR and DBT and presently, handling projects sponsored by CIRAD, French Reunion, ICAR, and private industries.
